reserve day

we are checking the weather but if you also have an access to internet you can see there is actually not much to see again. There was a rain during the night and the runway is now so wet again that some car mired somewhere on the grass apron. We will make briefing at 10:00 as usually with winners of the second day.

well, all except one: JB is over the Lysec, flying the ridge in overcast. Right now he announced he gonna give up. One hour of ridge flying in dead air is enough even for first day winner. Gyulas is beeing cooked, people relax, beer, and we can start pro forma farewell party. It is not a proper one because we will use tomorrow as reserve day and fly! There is still chance of valid competition! We hope for at least same weather like today! See you tomorrow!
 

about the time for combi now

some more outlandings, most of them in club class, 99 now on 10km, Dane (CH) outlanded in Prievidza, it is time for combi to arive. just SI made it home with marginal final glide. EK just asked about instructions. It seems cllub will be valid day, we have 5 over 100km already. Combi we hope for same.

 

first arrivals!

from club class. LS home, 70 after aerotow from Prievidza, LX 10km, MS 10km just after him. Rain shower just south of airfield, might be blocking the way to the last area but they could fly around it. No news from combi yet they have some time to fly.
 

First outlanding

V from club class - Stefan Liska outlanded in Tuzina. EM and X1 had second launch too. We hear club class just deciding in first area, about next strategy. Weather is cycling a bit, so luck will take part in results - but as we all know, good pilots seems to always have more luck than rest of the bunch.

 

WE FLY!

thats wonderful feeling, trust me! We made grid at 11:45 and first launch was postpone twice - so finally 12:30 we started. Sniffer today was Branik, and we found during his second sniff 1,6 m/s on Magura. Despite soft runway and slight tailwind, there was no problem with tows and only glider which needed relaunch was "11". Start lines were open 13:15 (club) and 13:47 (combi). Weather is good, sun and Cu´s, bit of spreading and showers but after last days we feel like in Namibia. We have to keep the fingers crossed for them  to score valid day, so we can possibly fly tomorrow reserve day to make all comp valid.
