Neverending story - launching

normally it is a job for an hour and couple of minutes. Not today. Gliders land and launch again and when we think it is over, there is another one on downwind. Thermals were apparently working only in the mountains, so who was not brave to fly it directly on slopes could have a problem. Or maybe not - there could be bit of luck it the cycling development of thermals too. It is easy to be smart ass sitting here on the ground, and preaching what they should do and writing it on web site. Sealed A lot of gliders relaunched, some of them even used all three allowed launches - but still not enough to stay in the air. We heard some club class glider progressing on the second leg, and finally some nice clouds apppeared around. We hope they will make it!

 

Launches started

at 12:15 local time to sector of release to the east from the airfield with club class in front. The beginning was not simple, we had several gliders from both classes landing back to the airfield. Tasks are 2h15min AAT.

more sun here, but we must to wait a bit. We would like to ask guys who are here but has not registered yet, tomorrow after the briefing there will be open registration office at SGC clubhouse. We would like to ask people who send entry form but have not showed up yet to let us know if they are going to come or not. Only glider in combi class missing in the SGC index list is KKB-15 and it will have index 99 in 15m configuration. SGC list in document will be amended soon.

 

Hello world

after some rain during the night and in the morning we expect flyable weather for today and we prepare short tasks. Grid will be on RWY18, briefing will be at 10. Registration continues in SGC Clubroom, but today without welcome Borovicka and typical Slovak snack.
