launching completed

at leats for firt wave of gliders who made it to the grid in time. It seems some guys were not persuaded they want to fly in blue and fresh breeze, but as first whips of clouds started to popping above ridge of Velka Fatra, I saw more gliders to be driven to the grid. At tie-down area polish competitor is filling water so we can expect some late starters too. More glider trailers moving in, I just met Jano Cesnek, lost (and now found) gliding hotshot who can to complicate life to all 15m wanna-be winners. I think traffic on the road to airfiled will become heavier this afternoon. registration starts at 5PM, then all participants are invited for traditional welcome drink.

Morning call from Martin

09:16
Good n sunny morning to you! It is all quiet now here, some people drinking cofee and taking sunbath at the terace, we will have another practice day - and more people on grid again. Weather looks very similar to yesterday - sunny, blue with maximum 1/8 oc Cu over the mountains. Southerly wind, so grid at 18 and briefing at 11.

All gliders counted

and the mountain hero for today is Petr Setka with his Ventus 2cxM/18m who flew today's not very easy task and so far we know as the only pilot because except of two files from club class we haven't receive any more. This training period is important also for the scorers to test and tune the scoring software, so please all other pilots flying today and tomorrow upload your files via our web feature when logged on.

All grid in the air

13:55
SW wind stronger than predicted made launching from 36 bit challanging but everything went OK. Two pilots relaunched, but we see most on Mala Fatra ridge. Czech guys are first time in Martin, so they wanted to get familiar with mountains around the airfield. Sky is clear with 1/8 of Cu over the top of the hills and patches of cirrus clouds are moving across blocking sun heating. We hope someone will make the task today - but most important - they will have fun!

Good morning from Martin

11:27
sunny morning here in Martin airfield, tasks are set and we are waiting for launching now. Weather look s reasonable - not much clouds and even maybe blue thermals later during the day - so we will sticjk with the mountains today. Yesterday evening more people arrived - we saw polish, czech and more slovak trailers and caravans.

official training started!

16:21
Official training period has begun today. 12 Danish pilots who are here since weekend made most of the pilots on the grid. Two slovak pilots arrived yesterday too. First junior pilot Mato from Bratislava with well know glider Cirrus "Whiskey" and then Marcel from Nitra and his ASW15. For today we set quite ambitious task first but despite all models north of Slovakia was influenced by spreadover in middle level - so we changed tasks to simple O/R style tasks for both classes. We wait for igc files to be uploaded and calculate the results - and make sure our scoring software works well. Check results page if you are curious.
